Welcome to the design & research website of Nathan Prestopnik.
I am a human-computer interaction (HCI) researcher with an interest in user experience design and design science research approaches. I recently finished my Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology at Syracuse University's School of Information Studies, and I will be an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Ithaca College in fall 2013.
My current design and research activities include an NSF project on gaming and citizen science, information visualization in the context of military history education, and purposeful game design to support natural language processing (NLP) research.
Before embarking on an academic career, I was an interactive developer and user experience designer in Los Angeles, CA, Clifton Park, NY, and Syracuse, NY.
